Summer Programs

Ballet Durango Summer Intensive 2013
June 10-21
The Ballet Durango summer program is designed for Intermediate to Advanced dancers from age 10 to adult, with ballet classes being divided into two levels. We offer classes Monday through Friday in classical ballet, pas de deux, pointe/variations, modern dance, contemporary ballet, dance history, dance health and Pilates for dancers. The intensive runs from June 10 through June 21, 2013. Students may take two weeks or choose one week that works into their schedule.
The daily schedule includes Warm-UP&Stretch , Ballet, Pointe/Variations, Pas de Deux and Modern dance and a rotating schedule of classes in Contemporary Ballet, Choreography, Stretch and Strength and Dance History. Each level has the chance to work with different teachers throughout the week.
The emphasis of the program is working on correct technique in order to develop strong basics. We believe that good fundamentals are what students need to advance in their training. We work on the techniques that will advance each student's performing skills. We also work on learning choreography that is appropriate for the level of the student. We believe that good performing comes from good training and the Ballet Durango Summer Intensive strives to give students a leg-up for their future training.
EVENING MASTER CLASSES WILL BE HELD DURING THE BALLET DURANGO SUMMER INTENSIVE. THESE CLASSES WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. THEY ARE DESIGNED FOR ADULTS AND TEENS WHO CAN WORK AT AND INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED LEVEL. THESE CLASSES WILL BE TAUGHT BY THE BALLET DURANGO FACULTY. MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW!
