Ballet Durango Summer Intensive 2017

Full Day Program Runs June 19-23 & June 26-30

Junior Program Runs June 12-15

The Ballet Durango summer program is designed for Intermediate to Advanced dancers from age 10 to adult. We offer classes Monday through Friday in classical ballet, pas de deux, pointe, variations, modern dance, contemporary ballet, composition and Strength and Stetch.  The intensive runs from June 19 through June 30, 2017. The curricullum is designed for the student who takes both weeks but students may do one week with prior permissiion from the Director. The Junior Program is designed for the younger and/or less advanced student.

The daily schedule includes WarmupStretch , Ballet Technique, Pointe or Pre-Pointe, Variations, Choreography and Modern dance, plus a rotating schedule of classes in Contemporary Ballet, Jazz, Composition, Stretch and Strength and Dance History.  Each student has the chance to work with different teachers during the two weeks. The Junior Program will emphasize Ballet Technique, Pointe or Pre-Pointe, and a variety of other styles in a slightly shorter day.

The emphasis of the program is working on correct technique in order to develop strong basics. We believe that good fundamentals are what students need to advance in their training. We work on the techniques that will advance each student's performing skills. We also work on learning choreography that is appropriate for the level of the student. We believe that good performing comes from good training and the Ballet Durango Summer Intensive strives to give students a leg-up for their future training.

Class size will be limited, so register early. Registrations are now being accepted. Registration forms are available in a downloadable pdf by clicking on the button on the left.
